Pérez (D-Los Angeles): “I congratulate Assembly Speaker-Elect John Pérez on his election as the next speaker of the California State Assembly. We have an extraordinary opportunity before us to accomplish great things for the people of California and I look forward to partnering with him to get our economy back on track, create jobs, protect higher education and address our fiscal challenges.”
He added, “Now is the time to build upon the successful bipartisan teamwork of last year and I hope we can work together with the entire legislature to get our state’s priorities straight.â€
