TALLAHASSEE, Fla. /Florida Newswire/ -– Governor Charlie Crist today announced the appointment of Terence R. Perkins to the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court. “Terri’s extensive legal experience, high ethical standards, keen intellect and committed work ethic make him equipped to take the bench,” said Governor Crist. “I am confident he will serve the people of the Seventh District with fairness and compassion.”

Perkins, 54, has practiced privately with Smith, Hood, Perkins since the beginning of 2010. Previously, he practiced privately with Smith, Hood, Perkins, Loucks, Stout, Bigman and Brock from 2009 to 2010; with Smith, Hood, Perkins, Loucks, Stout, Bigman, Lane and Brock from 2004 to 2009; with Smith, Hood, Perkins, Loucks, Stout and Orfinger from 1999 to 2004; with Smith, Hood, Perkins, Loucks, Stout, Orfinger and Selis from 1997 to 1999; with Monaco, Smith, Hood, Perkins, Loucks and Stout from 1995 to 1997; with Monaco, Hood, Perkins, Loucks and Stout from 1992 to 1995; with Monaco, Hood, Perkins, Orfinger and Stout from 1990 to 1992; with Monaco, Hood and Perkins from 1988 to 1990; with Cobb, Cole and Bell from 1986 to 1987; and with Cobb and Cole from 1980 to 1986. Perkins earned both his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida.

Perkins will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge John V. Doyle.
