HOUSTON, Texas, Feb. 3, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — TeDan Surgical Innovations, industry leader in surgical access instrumentation, announces the launch of the Phantom Series MIS Anterior Hip Retractor System. TeDan Surgical’s revolutionary hip retractor utilizes a system of adjustable surgical arms with attachable retractors, enabling surgeons to perform the entire procedure without a fracture table or a surgical assistant.

Dr. Lawrence Menendez and Dr. Daniel Allison, Orthopedic Surgeons at the University of Southern California Medical Center, partnered with TeDan Surgical to design and develop this innovative retractor.

Dr. Allison shared their idea with the TSI team. “We wanted to create a system that could place the anterior approach to hip replacement into the hands of any orthopedic surgeon, minimizing trauma to the patient’s soft tissues and bone, while taking away the need for any surgical assistants.”

The Phantom Series MIS Anterior Hip Retractor System has been used in surgery over twenty times. Evaluations by surgeons have deemed the system a success.

According to Dr. Menendez, initial trials exceeded expectations. “We were nervous before the first surgery that things wouldn’t come together or the surgery would become more complicated, but from the first go-round, the surgery was made much easier. Since then we’ve only been making it better. We set some lofty goals and feel like we’ve accomplished them. We are very excited to start giving this system to other surgeons and patients.”

With the realization that performing hip replacements through the anterior approach may expedite patient recovery time and reduce post-operative discomfort, surgeons, with increasing frequency, are opting to operate using the anterior technique. Previously, this technically demanding approach has only been possible using a Judet style fracture table and two surgical assistants. The Phantom MIS Anterior Hip Retractor System allows surgeons to access the surgical site through the anterior approach on a standard operating table without a fracture table or additional personnel.

About TeDan Surgical Innovations:

Founded in 2006 with the goal to innovate existing retraction techniques, TeDan Surgical has become an industry leader in access instrumentation. TeDan’s patented retractors increase visibility for surgeons while decreasing patient wound size and the potential for tissue trauma. Experience the difference. Experience Innovation.

BOSTON, Mass., Feb. 3, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Mr. Ray Michaels, founder of Localization, LLC, has recently announced that the sluggish economy has forced companies to look into Canadian, European, Asian and South American markets and while they are working on that French pronunciation, managers now come to Localization, LLC Translation Services for translation and language support.

BOSTON, Mass., Feb. 3, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Mr. Ray Michaels, founder of Localization, LLC, has recently announced that the sluggish economy has forced companies to look into Canadian, European, Asian and South American markets and while they are working on that French pronunciation, managers now come to Localization, LLC Translation Services for translation and language support.

Some companies are starting to increase their exports, others are making efforts to broaden their client base domestically; in both cases, the companies are targeting non-English speaking customers.

As of late, Ray Michaels, Marketing Director at Localization, LLC Translations Boston points out that there has been an increase in demand for translation of medical equipment manuals, legal contracts and technical and safety data sheets. “There is a great demand right now for American made services and equipment,” says Ray. “Canada, our closest neighbor, is the No 1 importer of American goods and services. South American, Asian and European clients are also buying US made product so when you sell to a foreign country, all the supporting documentation has to be in the language of the country the product is going to.”

The greatest demand at Localization, LLC Translations Boston are Spanish and French translations. “Which makes sense,” says Ray since Spanish is spoken throughout North and South America and French speaking Canada is only 5 hours away.

When asked about all the available automated translation such as Google Translate and Babel Fish, Mr. Michaels also adds that he doesn’t feel translators and language professionals should be threatened by technological advances.

“Translation industry has evolved into a very diverse industry with services that may not come to mind right away when thinking of translation,” says Ray. “To begin with, the automated translations have a long way to go in terms of accuracy and language grammar. They haven’t yet learned how to decline or conjugate so that’s why I always advise our clients to use these tools for personal needs such as translate an email or sentence or two. Do not use it if the translated document will be published or seen by others. It’s dangerous because you never know what that machine translation can create: it could be offensive and expletive. Companies spend years building their reputation – machine translation can destroy it in seconds. And machine translations would never learn idioms, jokes and the overall spirit of the written text,” adds Ray.

“Let’s not forget,” continues Michaels, “that translation is not the only service that goes into a project: most of our translation projects require formatting, desktop publishing or localization. In addition, some of the clients look to take their message beyond the written word; that’s why Localization, LLC Translations Boston offers such services as transcription of foreign languages, voice over and dubbing.”

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J., Feb. 2, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The $39 billion US private line services market is expected to show modest 2.3 percent annual growth over the next five years, as demand for higher bandwidth private lines offsets the shift of lower bandwidth private lines to packet-based services, says a market analysis study from Insight Research.

Private lines are leased point-to-point circuits, which are used for a variety of applications including connecting enterprise locations and backhauling cell towers to mobile switching centers. The new study, “Private Line and Wavelength Services, 2011-2016,” provides an in-depth analysis of the US market, including a study of the transition from frame relay/ATM networking to IP networks and the uplift driven by new video and data applications. Private line revenues will increasingly be driven by data-based cloud computing and the demand for apps.

“The insatiable demand for data has kept the private line market relatively steady over the past five years and we expect this trend to continue,” says Insight Research Director Fran Caulfield. “The need to backhaul data-intensive 4G wireless services and increased local bandwidth for wireline data and video services will sustain the private line segment for the foreseeable future,” Caulfield concluded.

“Private Line and Wavelength Services, 2011-2016″ evaluates the total private line market and segments it by local and long distance private line service revenue, wholesale and retail private line revenue, revenue by type of carrier, revenue by T1, T3 or OC-n circuit class, as well as the number of T1, T3, and OC-n private lines sold. Estimates of wavelength revenues are also provided.

A free report excerpt, table of contents, and ordering information is available online at http://www.insight-corp.com/reports/pl11.asp . The full, 186-page report is available immediately for $4,695 (hard copy). Adobe Acrobat (PDF) report licenses are also offered. Visit our website or call (973) 541-9600 for details.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 2, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Gingrich Foundation has recognized the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association as its February Charity of the Month. The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association cares for one of our country’s most important historic sites – the home and estate of our first president, George Washington.

Founded in 1853 by Ann Pamela Cunningham, the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association is the oldest national historic preservation organization in the United States. Under Ms. Cunningham’s leadership, the Association sought to raise $200,000 in a national appeal to save Washington’s home. Five years later, the Association purchased Mount Vernon from Washington’s great-grandnephew and began to restore it. In 1860, the Association finally opened the estate to the public, and it has remained open as a monument to President Washington ever since.

Today, approximately one million people visit Mount Vernon each year. The mansion, now restored with many of its original furnishings, is open for tours. Guests are free to roam the gardens and grounds, where a variety of original buildings still stand. At the pioneer farm site, as well as at the working blacksmith shop, distillery, and gristmill, visitors to Mount Vernon can get a better sense of Washington’s life as a farmer by seeing important components of his estate operating much as they were when Washington died in 1799. On a hillside overlooking the Potomac, President Washington is buried with his wife Martha and several other family members.

“We appreciate very much that the Gingrich Foundation has set an example for others to follow,” said James C. Rees, president of the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association. “Because we don’t receive any government support, we depend upon the generosity of a wide range of patriotic Americans.”

“The Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association has preserved one of America’s historical treasures for more than 150 years,” said Callista Gingrich, president of the Gingrich Foundation. “The Association’s work has helped generations of Americans better understand the Father of Our Country.”

The Mount Vernon Ladies Association cares for President Washington’s home and estate without the use of public funds.

The Gingrich Foundation is a domestic non-profit corporation founded by Callista and Newt Gingrich to support charitable purposes.

CHICAGO, Ill., Feb. 1, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — KnowledgeAdvisors today announced that Bersin & Associates, the leading research and advisory services firm, released a brand new research bulletin that reviews KnowledgeAdvisors world-class integrated learning measurement solution, Metrics that Matter(R).

“Our research shows that midsize and large organizations want to better understand, manage, improve and benchmark their training investments,” stated Josh Bersin, Chief Executive Officer and President, Bersin & Associates.

“To help them achieve this, we created the Impact Measurement Framework, which offers a roadmap and set of methodologies for implementing a practical, business-based measurement program for corporate learning. Metrics that Matter(R) offers organizations technology support for implementing this framework, and for ongoing measurement and analysis.”

The Bersin & Associates research bulletin highlights KnowledgeAdvisors’ vital role in the measurement of training and talent development programs by:
* Summarizing critical factors of Metrics that Matter(R) such as standardized smart sheets, benchmarking, and integrations with learning management systems.
* Providing commentary on KnowledgeAdvisors innovative performance solutions which provide high value, low burden measurement programs for leadership development, sales effectiveness, on boarding and other strategic, visible and costly programs.
* Prescribing the use of Metrics that Matter(R) as a single measurement platform for talent development and as a powerful compliment to a learning management system for evaluation.

FAIRMONT, W.Va., Feb. 1, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) -- Backbone Security is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of their Steganography Application Fingerprint Database (SAFDB) which now contains 1,025 steganography applications.

FAIRMONT, W.Va., Feb. 1, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Backbone Security is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of their Steganography Application Fingerprint Database (SAFDB) which now contains 1,025 steganography applications.

Developed in Backbone’s Steganography Analysis and Research Center (SARC), SAFDB is the world’s largest commercially available hash set exclusive to digital steganography applications.

The database is widely used by U.S. and international government and law enforcement agencies, the intelligence community, and private sector digital forensic examiners and network security professionals to detect digital steganography applications on seized digital media and within inbound and outbound network traffic streams.

Discovery of a steganography application during a digital forensics examination is a strong indication the application has been, or will be, used to conceal evidence of criminal activity. Detecting a steganography application in the inbound network traffic stream is a strong indication an insider will use the application to steal sensitive information.

SAFDB is an integral part of the Steganography Analyzer Artifact Scanner (StegAlyzerAS), a digital forensics application, and the Steganography Analyzer Real-Time Scanner (StegAlyzerRTS), a network security appliance that detects the presence or use of steganography in the inbound and outbound network traffic stream in real-time.

Existing customers may download an updated version of StegAlyzerAS and StegAlyzerRTS that contains SAFDB v3.12 by logging into their account on the SARC Customer Portal at http://www.sarc-wv.com/customer_portal/ .

For additional information about Backbone’s steganalysis tools, please visit the SARC web site or send email to sarc@backbonesecurity.com.

About the SARC:

The SARC was established to create and maintain a national repository of digital steganography applications, fingerprints, and signatures that can be used during forensic examination of seized digital storage media or when monitoring network traffic for malicious insider behavior. The Steganography Application Fingerprint Database (SAFDB) is the world’s largest database exclusive to digital steganography applications. More information: www.sarc-wv.com .

About Backbone Security:

In addition to being the leading provider of digital steganalysis tools, Backbone is a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) that conducts automated PCI-DSS compliance assessments with their industry leading One-Stop PCI Scan service. Backbone also provides real-time intrusion monitoring, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and business continuity and disaster recovery planning services.

HIGHLAND PARK, N.J., Feb. 1, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — 2012 marks an important milestone for Belvidere Pharmacy. It opened new doors in its new hometown of Highland Park. When owner and President Shara Rudner, R.Ph. took the reins of the business in 1996, it was a typical retail pharmacy stocked with everything from school to surgical supplies. But from the beginning, Belvidere’s staff handled requests for compounded, or custom-made, medications from veterinarians, physicians and specialists.

Word quickly spread about the pharmacy’s service and expertise. In 1998, the decision was made to drop the retail side and focus exclusively on compounding.

Compounding is the answer to health issues for countless patients: some patients may be allergic to ingredients found in mass-produced medications, some need to take more obscure drugs that are no longer manufactured, or may require a specific dose that isn’t commercially available. Others have difficulty with swallowing pills and would welcome a topical or liquid form of their medications. Compounding can meet all of these individual needs, and more.

Rudner always had great hopes for her business. But even she may not have foreseen how Belvidere would blossom over the next decade and a half. The name Belvidere has become synonymous with quality, and its reputation has grown beyond the physicians and patients it served at the outset. As a result, the organization has been commissioned by several pharmaceutical companies for clinical trials.

In 2007, Belvidere became the first PCAB accredited compounding pharmacy in New Jersey; earning it a place of honor on the national compounding stage. It was awarded reaccreditation in 2010.

The pharmacy’s new, ultramodern space will bring a host of conveniences and a serious “cool” factor to its clientele of patients, physicians and veterinarians. It’s considerably larger, with a spacious and comfortable waiting area; has a street-level entrance; and is easily accessible from major roads and several area hospitals. The pharmacy’s new design is contemporary, inviting, and “green,” featuring a seamless, metallic copper epoxy floor, solar panels, paper-free faxes and more.

The most important upgrades are those behind the scenes.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on being on the cutting edge,” said Rudner, “We offer nothing less to our clientele. But this move presented a unique opportunity: To create a facility that significantly exceeds national standards. And we are thrilled to have achieved that.” The Highland Park facility now offers multiple ISO class 7 compounding rooms; new clean rooms; and equipment designed to prepare sterile preparations. It’s all brand new, and eclipses most of Belvidere’s competitors.

“With our new facility, we’re able to accommodate individual customized medications, as well as any scale clinical study,” said Rudner. “Our innovative facility goes hand-in-hand with our extensive policies and procedures.”

According to Rudner, the demand for individualized medications is rapidly on the rise for patients of every species. In addition to formulating medications for people, Belvidere also specializes in compounding veterinary prescriptions. The pharmacy serves practitioners and patients from a wide geographic area and the full spectrum of specialties. Belvidere accepts most insurance plans in order to meet the growing needs of its customers.

With its new facility, a new chapter begins for this important player in a growing sector of modern healthcare.

“We’re very excited to call Highland Park home for Belvidere Pharmacy. It’s a vibrant community,” said Rudner. “We look forward to thriving here for years to come.”

FORT COLLINS, Colo., Jan. 31, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — 2012 has started off on the correct foot for the Loveland Branch of Financial Foundation Group, also known as FFG. The company spends the typical work week helping people review their retirement accounts, college savings, investment safety, and life insurance needs. This past week the staff not only focused on the usual, but also spread its wings into the community once again for another volunteer project.

The Financial Foundation Group’s Loveland staff met up at the Larimer Humane Society in jeans, paint shirts, and sneakers to spruce up what the Humane Society affectionately calls the MYM room or the Meet Your Match room. This is where animals are taken to spend some time with prospective owners to see if they are a good match for each other.

The Larimer Humane Society was founded in 1969 and is an independent, non-profit organization. Because it is Northern Colorado’s only open-door animal care facility, it provides shelter and medical treatment to almost 12,000 lost, injured, ill, abused, abandoned, and orphaned wild and domestic animals on a yearly basis.

Because of their quality adoptions and lost and found services, the Larimer Humane Society places more than 3,500 companion animals into new homes per year and reconnects just over 2,100 stray animals with their thankful owners.

“I am reminded at every volunteer project just how much heart and passion each of our staff members have when it comes to just simply helping out. They spent time mopping up dust and dirt, painting, organizing, and pretty much whatever was needed…just to help,” says Aryn Goldman, Partner and Executive Director at FFG.

The Financial Foundation Group’s mission is to become a nationwide leader in the financial services industry one town at a time. They have experienced a phenomenal growth rate over the past few years and plan to continue the trend. The knowledgeable staff at FFG has access to a wide array of investment products and can provide assistance with providing life insurance choices and wealth building strategies to suit each individual client’s needs.

Currently, the Loveland office is offering employment opportunities to motivated individuals looking to advance rapidly through their management trainee program to help further expand the company.

The company’s web site – www.FinancialFoundationGroup.com – has current market information and summaries for clients to review.

MANORVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 31, 2012 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Officer James Greco, a 17-year veteran of the Nassau County Department of Corrections, has been denied his retirement status by the Sheriff of Nassau County. Officer Greco was charged with Workers Compensation fraud which resulted in his wrongful termination, as per a ruling by the arbitrator hearing his case. Despite winning two judicial decrees in his favor against the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department, Officer Greco continues to be denied his full retirement status.

In early 2011, a Workers Compensation Judge found Officer James Greco innocent of the erroneous charges by Nassau County that he was defrauding the Workers Compensation system. Subsequently, his termination as a Senior Corrections Officer in the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department was overturned by an arbitrator. It was concluded that Officer Greco be awarded a three-quarters disability retirement from the New York State retirement system, in addition to retroactive back pay.

HISTORY:

Officer Greco had suffered a career-ending injury due to an assault in 2007 by an inmate. Initially the Sheriff’s Department’s own doctor deemed him injured and placed him on light duty status. Unfaltering, the Sheriff’s Department returned Greco to full duty post anyway, entirely aware that his performance would be less than capable. If Officer Greco had accepted this subjective and irrational decision, his safety and the safety of his fellow officers would be at risk.

After Greco refused to recognize the Department’s ploy to place him at a full duty post, he was suspended twice: once for a week; then again for two weeks; and was then ultimately terminated. After termination, Greco struggled to keep his house, where he lives with his wife and two young daughters. Pursuant to an arbitrator’s ruling, it was legally documented that the Sheriff’s Department did not adhere to its own policies and procedures, and that Greco was indeed, wrongfully terminated. Officer Greco should have been reinstated at his original title, but the Sheriff’s Department refused to do so, violating the arbitrator’s ruling that was two years in the making. Throughout this time, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department recklessly squandered thousands of tax payer’s dollars for needless legal fees.

Greco himself, spent tens of thousands of dollars on legal fees for almost four years, while attempting to prove his innocence. The family also faced losing their home several times however, at no time did Officer Greco accept any disbursement or settlement through the Worker’s Compensation Fund, other than for medical treatment. A neurologist’s diagnosis of Officer Greco’s injuries concluded that if another assault on him took place, the consequences could leave him a paraplegic.

While on active duty at the Nassau County Correctional Facility, Officer Greco became a staunch safety advocate for his fellow corrections officers and inmates alike. After discovering a proliferating and hazardous mold infestation in the correction facility, he promptly reported it to the Department. When no admission or action was taken by the Department, he reported it to OSHA. Following OSHA’s investigation and confirmation of the massive mold infestation, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department began to retaliate against Greco by way of discrimination and consistent persecution.

According to the Sheriff Officers Association Union Acting President, Brian Sullivan, this is not the only case where a corrections officer has been terminated and unjustifiably denied retirement status. According to Sullivan, other officers had also been advised by Union officials that nothing could be done about the Department’s prejudicial practices, which are common daily occurrences at the facility, and commented that the Sheriff’s Department “does what it wants.”

A female corrections officer at the same location was injured on the job in 2001. She was subsequently fired in 2004, but was legally awarded three-quarters retirement pay by New York State. To this day, she is still battling the “system” trying to receive her retirement status from the department. Brian Sullivan went on to say that Nassau County’s legal counsel for the Nassau County Correctional Center, Elizabeth Loconsolo, stated to him that “a retired Sheriff’s identification card is a badge of honor and that Officer Greco is not worthy of it.” Current Sheriff Sposato also commented to Sullivan that, “if Greco wants an I.D, tell him to come back to work.”

Officer Greco is adamant about not surrendering to defeat by an institution that governs itself and does not adhere to New York State legal decrees. He is determined to set a precedent, whatever it takes, so that future officers will not have to succumb to this unacceptable, bullying treatment.

Given the financial gaffe that Nassau County is presently in, does the Sheriff’s Department have carte blanche to frivolously spend tax payer’s money for attorney and court fees simply to feed their ego when losing a legal judgment? It is obvious that we have a corrupt and anarchistic regime operating clandestinely behind the walls of this correctional facility. Officer Greco is now returning to the front line yet one more time, to rightfully attain his retirement status.

Media coverage regarding the questionable behavior within the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department has been an ongoing endeavor by The New York Times and Newsday; however, it has been an effort in futility.
