ORLANDO, Fla. /Music Industry Newswire/ — InfoComm 2011 — Audinate, the leading developer of complete media networking solutions, announced the introduction of Dante Netspander at InfoComm 2011. Audinate is recognized as a company that has led the way in advancing IP digital media networking. Dante Netspander is the latest major innovation by Audinate.

Dante Netspander allows scalable digital A/V networks to be built without current constraints. For the first time, Dante Netspander makes it possible to deliver tightly synchronized networked audio across subnets in a Layer 3 TCP/IP routed network. In addition Dante Netspander uses Dante’s zero configuration networking capabilities to enable devices in a routed network to be discovered and easily managed. Dante Netspander will be made available as a powerful software application that runs on target PC platforms specified by Audinate.

Ethernet is a Layer 2 protocol limited to implementing flat networks that quickly become difficult to operate and manage as the number of nodes grows. Layer 3 TCP/IP Networking was introduced to provide scalable and manageable networking. Using Layer 3 routers, large networks can be partitioned into subnets and network congestion is eliminated by restricting the broadcast of unnecessary data. Today’s corporate networks are all Layer 3 routed networks, but until now, digital audio networking technologies have been limited to operation on a single Ethernet network or a single subnet of an IP network. Dante is a layer 3 audio networking technology, and Dante Netspander allows the full potential of Dante networking over routed networks.

“A/V design consultants and contractors have been requesting solutions to route synchronized audio across subnets for large scale enterprise solutions such as campus-wide networks, universities, hospitals, theme parks, convention centers, broadcast centers, and other large scale network deployments,” stated David Myers, COO of Audinate. “Dante Netspander is yet another example of Audinate’s thought leadership position in networking to solve customer problems.”

Dante currently runs at Layer 3. The emerging Audio Video Bridging (AVB) standard will support either a Layer 3 (IEEE 1733) or Layer 2 (IEEE 1722) transport. While Dante will support both AVB transport versions, the RTP based Layer 3 transport will be required to route audio across subnets.

Dante Netspander is scheduled to be available by the end of 2011.

Berlin, Germany /Music Industry Newswire/ — Native Instruments has just introduced VINTAGE COMPRESSORS, a set of faithfully modeled classic dynamic processors for use in GUITAR RIG 4 and in the free GUITAR RIG PLAYER. Produced in collaboration with DSP experts Softube, the collection comprises three of the most distinctive and revered high-end studio compressors, and can be used to creatively treat a comprehensive range of instruments and sounds with the highest level of sonic fidelity and profound vintage charm.

VINTAGE COMPRESSORS is the first release in a new range of professional studio effects based on the GUITAR RIG effects framework. Developed in collaboration with acclaimed Swedish DSP developers Softube, known for their highly sophisticated emulations of analog audio hardware, VINTAGE COMPRESSORS comprises three different models designated as the VC 76, VC 2A and VC 160. While the VC 76 excels at drums and vocals, the VC 2A is popular for vocals, bass and guitar, with the VC 160 being a common choice for string instruments and individual drum sounds as well.

All three emulations offer the full feature set of their analog hardware counterparts, with their sonic characteristics and intricacies authentically replicated through advanced analog component modeling. The GUITAR RIG framework also provides an additional sidechain input with adjustable high-pass filter as well as a wet/dry control for parallel compression, opening up a wide array of advanced techniques. All three emulations are also available separately, and integrate seamlessly with any existing arsenal of effects in the GUITAR RIG 4 or the GUITAR RIG PLAYER software.

VINTAGE COMPRESSORS is available as a download in the NI Online Shop for $229 / 199 EUR, with the individual models being available for $119 / 99 EUR each.

AUSTIN, Texas /Music Industry Newswire/ — Music Computing, the makers of the StudioBLADE line of all-in-one music keyboard production stations announced today the Gen2 versions, which represents a huge leap in performance and value. StudioBLADEs (Gen2) are all-in-one music production stations complete with piano keys, drum trigger pads, knobs, sliders, thousands of sound presets and software for live and studio use. They allow users to compose, record, mix, and master songs that are ready for radio or direct Internet distribution.

StudioBLADEs (Gen2) are powered by high-performance computer cores utilizing Intel Xeon mission-critical server platform processors that are perfect for today’s demanding musicians and the virtual instruments and software application they use. Options include dual 6-core processors totaling 12-cores, up to 192GB of RAM, and up to 6TB of hard drive storage. The Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) operating system is preconfigured for music production and can run virtually any software application or plug-in. Capable of running over 2,000 plug-ins at once, sequencing thousands of tracks simultaneously, and storing millions of sound presets, the StudioBLADE (Gen2) is by far the highest performance keyboard available today.

The first truly scalable music production tool, StudioBLADE provides the user with what they need, when they need it. This means the user can start with the base configuration with a single processor, one memory module and one hard drive, and add more as they need it. The company calls this the Goldilocks Principle and is designed to allow the keyboard to grow with the user.

“The goal was to produce products that would endure the test of time, or even better yet, the increasing shorter product cycles from the computer parts manufactures,” said Victor Wong, CEO, Music Computing. “By using server components, which are supported in terms of years or decades instead of months, the StudioBLADE represents a sound investment that will save its users time and money far into the future.”

StudioBLADEs (Gen2) are available in 61-key and an 88-key versions, perfect for live or studio use. The keys are velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted action, and are professional in feel and ultra-roadworthy. Pitch and Mod wheels as well as octave up and down buttons with indicators are also included, with prices start at: $3,499.

TOP INDUSTRY EXPERTS JUDGE TALENT:
Industry experts and tastemakers to judge talent include American Recordings A&R exec Antony Bland (Avett Brothers, System of A Down, Slayer, ZZ Top, Kevin Devine, The Rocketboys), A&R exec Brian Malouf (formerly RCA, Columbia and Walt Disney Records), RBC Records Partner Brian Shafton (TECH N9NE, DJ Quik, NWA, Snoop Dogg), Assistant Music Director / Morning Show Host, 98.7-FM Darren Rose, Strange Music West A&R VP Dave Weiner (TECH N9NE, NWA, Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Rawkus, Dr. Dre, Geto Boys, Rapalot, Scarface), AEG Live Tour Marketing Director Derek Schaefer, Tour Marketing Director, AEG Live, Interscope Records Erin Dawson (Lady Gaga, U2, La Rouz, Far East Movement, Ellie Goulding, Eminem), radio personality / producer / poet Poetess Media’s Felicia “The Poetess” Morris, Angel Diva Music Producer / Artist Development Expert Jan Linder Koda, VP of Label Acquisition and Development, EMI Label Services Jesse Flores (Tyrese, Ice Cube, Raekwon, E-40, Talib Kweli, Jagged Edge, Trina, Twista, Too Short, Lloyd Banks), music publisher Robert Walls (Red Queen Music), Producer Sean Beavan (NIN, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt, System of a Down, Thrice, 8mm), Producer and former executive editor The Source Magazine Soren Baker, Walt Disney Talent Casting & Booking Director Stan Freese (has hired 100,000+ artists at Disney properties worldwide), Stereo Pristine Records A&R exec Tom Zutaut (formerly Geffen/Elektra, GnR, Metallica, Tesla, Enya), Regime Entertainment’s Violet Brown (NWA, Dr. Dre, recipient of SOURCE POWER 30 award for 5 consecutive years).
These music executives will be joined by casting director Rayna Apploff from the world of television, who currently seeks talent for a reality television series, and will judge talent.

These experts are hand-picked because they can do something meaningful for an artist’s career if they like what they hear. At past LAMN Jams, performers have been signed on the sport (Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz was offered a deal by RBC Records), had their music placed in network television (introduced by talent judge Jan Linder Koda to Fox Sports Executive Producer, artist Krash Karma placed a track with the program), and gotten production deals (like Jody Whitesides).

THE RECORD INDUSTRY’S ANSWER TO AMERICAN IDOL:
Everyone knows American Idol, but LAMN Jam Music Contests feature artists who perform ORIGINAL material, receive CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and PERSONAL attention. LAMN Jams are live A&R.

$25,000 PRIZE PACKAGE + PRICELESS OPPORTUNITIES:
Winners receive an artist development package designed to advance their careers. Finale winners (Rock and Urban) each receive a prize package valued at $25,000+ value including consultation with artist development experts, production, mastering service, gear, software, subscriptions to professional publications, resources, press release service, book-keeping and professional photography session. More details at www.lamn.com.

2008 LAMN JAM WINNERS:
Urban LAMN Jam winner Aunt Kizzy’z Boyz were offered a deal by RBC Records after performing just 2 songs, were introduced to Taj Mahal to open for his band and were featured in Music Connection’s “Top 20 Favorite Signings of 2008.” Rock LAMN Jam winner Starving For Gravity played on top L.A. rock station 98.7-FM’s Ozolocal Lounge, signed songs to Red Queen Music for exploitation in film and TV and headlined shows in Las Vegas and S. California.

2007 LAMN JAM WINNER REACHES EUROPE:
Aloe Blacc won the 2007 LAMN Jam by a landslide, helping to more than quadruple youth attendance at the LA Public Library which hosted this summer series. You’ve probably heard his hit “I Need A Dollar” – theme song for the HBO series How To Make It In America – which broke the Top Ten in Europe.

2006 LAMN JAM WINNER HITS BIG TIME:
After winning the 2006 LAMN Jam, Tim Fagan was invited to tour with the Goo Goo Dolls and won the John Mayer Songwriting Contest, co-writing with the multi-platinum songwriter and recording artist.

Berlin, Germany /Music Industry Newswire/ — Native Instruments has just completed a major share reorganization that makes the company entirely self-owned. The reorganization was facilitated by CEO and founding shareholder Daniel Haver, and comprises both a general shareholder consolidation and the reacquisition of about 30% of the company’s shares from a long-standing venture capital investor. Implemented in the month of Native Instruments’ 15th anniversary, the consolidation effects complete ownership of the company by its original founders and its executive management team, and makes it independent from external investors.

“While this reorganization may sound like an abstract behind-the-scenes process, the implications for our users and our industry are actually quite profound,” says Daniel Haver. “As a completely self-owned enterprise, we will now be able to pursue our vision for the most forward-thinking music production and DJ technology in an even more energetic and uncompromising fashion.”

With a revenue growth of 60% in 2009 and 70% in 2010, as well as market-leading sales figures for its current product range centered around MASCHINE, KOMPLETE and TRAKTOR, Native Instruments remains a uniquely vital and dynamic company within the musical instruments industry and the wider technology domain.

About Native Instruments:
Native Instruments is a leading manufacturer of software and hardware for computer-based music production and DJing. The company’s mission is to develop innovative, fully integrated solutions for all professions, styles and genres. The resulting products regularly push technological boundaries and open up new creative horizons for professionals and amateurs alike.

The trade show and conference is the region’s only trade event dedicated to professional lighting, audio, music, entertainment, audio-visual and systems integration solutions.

Audinate delivers a no-hassle, self-configuring, true plug-and-play digital audio network that uses standard internet protocols. The conference offered building professionals an unparalleled opportunity to learn from industry experts, gather new information and discover the latest technical advances. Lee’s presentation was titled “The developing IEEE 802.1 Audio Video Bridging (AVB) standard: How it will affect the AV industry.”
