MILLBRAE, Calif. /California Newswire/ — This past week, the City of Millbrae announced that it has been awarded $200,000 from the California High-Speed Rail Authority to support the development of a comprehensive, multi-agency, multi-modal access plan to the Millbrae Intermodal Transit Station.
“Developing a comprehensive plan with our transit partners is critically important in making Millbrae Station a true multi-modal transportation hub that everyone will use,” said City of Millbrae Mayor Reuben Holober. “I’m very thankful the High-Speed Rail Authority understood our vision and awarded us this financial support.”
The Millbrae Intermodal Transit Station Comprehensive Access Plan is being developed in partnership with BART, Caltrain, SamTrans, and San Francisco International Airport, to ensure access for shuttles, intermodal transfers, bicyclists, and pedestrians is provided at the Station and its surrounding area.
“It’s easy to say just do it, but it takes a lot of work from every partner to make sure this project is as successful as we envision it to be,” said Holober. “The comprehensive plan is an essential guide to ensure we are all working towards the same vision and goals.”
An important goal of the Comprehensive Plan is to better link the Millbrae Station to downtown Millbrae. In addition to access, the Comprehensive Plan will include a parking resource management plan to analyze and forecast parking shortfalls and surpluses, and their impacts on the Millbrae community.
