A Night at the LA River Sept. 10 at the Frog Spot, FoLAR’s riverside visitor center

LOS ANGELES, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Friends of the Los Angeles River and the UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation are hosting A Night at the LA River at the Frog Spot, FoLAR’s riverside visitor center on Saturday September 10, 2016, 5 – 8 PM. The evening will feature the release of the Luskin Center’s LA River Greenway Guide, a panel discussion – The LA River Greenway Through Public-Private Partnership­, followed by live music from Martin Booe and Kate Brady.

“We want to create an event where community members can connect with LA River Leaders in a fun and intimate way” said FoLAR Senior Policy Director Marissa Christiansen. “We’re combining concrete policy talk with River recreation to get more people involved.”

The panel discussion – The LA River Greenway Through Public-Private Partnership­ – will feature Michael Affeldt, Deputy Director, LA Riverworks, Office of Mayor Garcetti; Kelsey Jessup, Project Manager, UCLA Luskin Center; Mark Kenyon, Executive Director, North East Trees; Tori Kjer, Los Angeles Program Director, The Trust for Public Land; and will be moderated by FoLAR’s Community Program Manager Stephen Mejia.
