CCC Panel to Examine How Music Makes Money on the Internet

LOS ANGLES /California Newswire/ — Building a fan base and earning money in a digital world are the topics for a special presentation by the California Copyright Conference (www.theccc.org) in Los Angeles. The CCC event will feature representatives from some of the industry’s top digital companies and content providers. The program, which offers CLE credit for attorneys, will take place Tuesday, November 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Sherman Oaks, California.

“As traditional physical modes of content distribution have seen dramatic revenue declines over the past decade, many have looked to digital distribution as the entertainment industry’s white knight,” notes CCC president Jonathan Rosner. Everyone involved in the music industry is welcome to come hear and take part in an exploration of where things have gone in digital distribution and where they may be going in the near future.

The program is entitled “Digital Distribution: Generating Interest and Income Using Today’s Internet Tools” and will feature panelists Zahavah Levine, Chief Counsel of YouTube, and Kevin Arnold, CEO and Founder of IODA. Co-moderators of the program will be Eric Polin, Sr. VP of Music Publishing for Universal Pictures, and Diane Snyder-Ramirez, VP of Royalty Accounting & Administration for the Royalty Review Council. Additional panelists are pending.

Potential topics for consideration by the panel include:
* Current status of domestic and global digital distribution
* Who are the players, who’s up-and-coming
* Payment structures now and looking forward
* Ramifications of piracy
* DMCA (digital millennium copyright act) to stay or go
* Broadband and mobile distribution issues

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Dinner follows at 7:00 p.m., with the panel presentation set for 8:00 to 9:45 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, 15433 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks CA 91403.
