The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Approves California InterContinental University as Recognized University for Online Education

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — California InterContinental University (CalUniversity), a provider of distance education through online degrees, announced this week that the Veteran’s Administration now recognizes this educational institution as a provider of higher education for active military personnel and veterans.

This announcement comes at an appropriate time; May is National Military Appreciation Month.

“We are very excited about this new designation,” explains Dr. Shaan Senthil Kumar, University Co-chairman and CEO. “Military personnel, more than others, really need flexibility when it comes to education and through our online programs, that’s exactly what they get. We can provide education for anyone, anywhere, anytime. We are globally oriented.”

CALU provides this unique group of students with not only flexibility, but with a highly affordable tuition and payment plan.

“Our goal is two-fold: to provide military personnel and veterans with opportunities to enhance their career growth; and to aid them in smoothly transitioning into other careers,” adds Dr. Kumar.

Students have several educational tracks to choose from, all of which can be accomplished online. The most common focuses are business administration, entrepreneurship and leadership, IT and healthcare administration. Students can further choose to complete their degrees through an accelerated program, regular or extended programs. Degrees offered are: Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate.

Course study is provided by instructors who work in their field of instruction, so students will benefit from shared on-the-job experiences.

Online classes are limited to small class sizes with most faculty possessing doctoral degrees.

Students will also benefit from live weekly chats, message boards and one-on-one instruction. There are no mandatory group activities, but all the tools are provided for those who wish to participate in group work.

“What helped me more as a student and learner was the interactive website of the university and the Learning Center portal,” says Adnan Alasadi, a CALU alumnus who earned his doctorate degree this past April. “That enabled me to communicate with my teachers and other students and also provided me with the ability to access the online Library and Information Resource Network.”
